Its job is to allow you to adjust the amount of high-pressure water that comes from the WMS and is dispersed through the barb and out of the end of the sweep hose. This gives the sweep hose the power to sweep back and forth just like a broom. Agitating the dirt and debris that lies on the surface of your pool so that way the cleaner can suck up these items. You can find this part on the backside of the cleaner near the thrust jet. Great troubleshooting tip if you re having issues with the sweep hose spraying a lot of water out of the pool onto the deck windows or any other objects or people. If you use the adjustment screw on the barb to adjust the amount of pressure coming out of the hose it can correct this issue. However we would also recommend buying the TailSweep Pro (sold here on our site) as it diverts water back into the pool as the sweep hose operates.
